The week i grew 3 extra toes

Hello :)

I've just got back from 6 days walking in the lake district, it was AMAZING! Really really beautiful and rewarding, if not very challenging and painful! We set off on a 9 hour bus journey on the saturday

and arrived to a sunny Landell fell campsite where our base camp would be. On the sunday we climbed scarfell pike, the tallest point in england.

The bright and early on monday morning we set off for a 4 day walk, however this time we had 20kg of stuff on our backs. There were high's

and lows

and real lows

(that is me cutting my sock off my foot... 15 blisters created an extra element of pain!

but all in all it was a very amazing week! (and being with my 5 best friends did help!)

(here we all are looking like true walkers!)

And the whole thing has made me even more excited about going to malawi in august!

yesterday i went to see my new baby cousin Leo Clifton (24-07-11) and he is adorable and so tiny! And here is him and his big brothers

( left to right - Ollie, Sam holding baby leo, george) i have the worlds cutest cousins!
And then last night i went to Sidmouth fringe festival as my cousins band The leisure Society were playing and she got me on the guest list, they were amazing as always in a beautiful folk/hippy setting! There new album into the murky waters  is amazing and really worth a listen as they have been nominated twice for the ivor novello award, lost out to Lilly Allen and elbow. And my cousin (by her self) played with laura marling on the pyramid stage at glastonbury and they are good friends and she is hoping her band will be supporting laura on her tour.

I also wanted to have a quick rave about my love for arcade fire! I've been listening to their album a LOT over the last week, and well its bloody brilliant! so check it out! (Arcade fire - the suburbs)

Sorry i had a lot to say!

Until next time..

That moment where you find £25 in your back pocket...

Hello :)

My week has been pretty average, not a lot has really happened and i've not had much inspiration to write anything so, sorry! But i think i will by this time next week, as tomorrow i'm off to the lake district for 6 days to walk lots, eat boil in the bag, probably get soaked but most importantly be with my 5 closest friends (Beth,Evie, Cara, Chessie and Ailidh).

I finished my packing earlier, and it turns out my bag weigh's nearly half as much as i do! nice :Pso i'l be expecting bruised hips and feet when i get back! but hopefully some great memories and photo's :)

I also wanted to write a little about a band that i recently discovered by seeing them live (the way the music was intended to be heard) I went to hyde park on the 30th of june to see arcade fire and munford and sons, who were both absolutely amazing  live and i would jump at the chance to see them again. But also in the line up for the stage was a slightly lesser known band called Beirut. And they were amazing! made up from many different talented musicians playing everything from the accordion to various brass instruments. I would class them as folk music and they are truly amazing live! So defiantly something to check out if you get the chance! particularly elephant gun and nantes personal favourites of mine! I would also like to thank Ailidh and her sister and dad for making the day very enjoyable but particularly my dad who bought my ticket as a surprise, he is a very amazing dad.

So i won't be writing for a week but i will have many thing to talk about i'm sure when i get back!

So until then...

Work experience, snotty kids and the new Harry Potter

Hello,
This week i have been on placement at a primary school, in 'ash class' with receptions and year one's. They are all SO cute! And the whole experience reminded me why i want to be a primary school teacher, cuse i really do love kids!

Yes they tend to often have snotty noses but still... they are cute.
what is not nice is the cold and sore throat i am now left with! Teachers must have incredible immune systems!

Last night i went with my friends to watch the new Harry Potter film, which is really amazing! But did mean i cried a lot.. as it is very sad! Also a cheeky visit to nando's made it a really good evening :)

i'm going to go back to bed and die a little more

untill next time...

Left Turn Reverse Anyone?!

Hello,

As my title initials, i took my driving test today and failed... for a second time!
At least last time i failed on a real driving fault, missing a merge in turn sign and nearly colliding with an on coming vehicle. But this time, 4 minors and one major on not letting people cross the road when i was doing a left turn reverse.. thats what it. I failed because i expected them to wait.
Yes, apparently making people wait is a serious driving fault. So needless to say i'm a little annoyed.

driving-test-fail.jpeg Made me smile!

So i have decided i will go to the gym and take my anger out on a treadmill or something!

I also wanted to write a bit about my little brother. He is amazing! At 11 years old he has two websites and two youtube channels where he has filmed at edited 11 different video's and is working on a stop pause animation which Wallis and grommet isn't even a patch on!  i have no idea how he learn't to do it all, but i am very impressed and wanted to share how amazing he is.

Me and my lovely little brother in Venice :)

Until next time...

Heart Breaker

Hello,
I've had on manic week! But right now i'm very happy as i have finally managed to complete my 1st draft of my personal statement! (a challenge and a half) i"ve also been to my 4th uni open day, Portsmouth which was very nice. But.. i am still head over heals in love with Birmingham!

I am also quite proud of my continued 3 time a week (at least) visits to the gym! where.. i can't help but be slightly spurred on by the hot guys that seem to linger around.

i also had my own fairy tale story moment on friday when i met my friend off the train when ho got back from the army, but then in true good things never last style managed to get my heart broken, twice, i one week.. but one person. But the thing that made me smile despite all that was a very yummy cake my mum bought for me (picked by my little brother luke who is 11) and it was so pretty i had to take a picture of it before i ate it.

it was a very yummy cake!

I went out last night so i am very tired so my plan for the evening is to get into bed and watch Confessions of a shopoholic to make me feel better!

Until next time...

My Second, First Entry.

Hello, probably no one.
I doubt anyone is actually reading this, but i don't mind. If anything i want this to look back on my self anyway and challenge my self to be a different and better person. But if you are reading this, then thank you.

As maybe you guessed from my title this isn't my first blog, but i wanted to start a fresh one as that one was unwritten on for years when i remembered about it and, well i was about 15 when i started it so some of the content was a little embarrassing to read! Although, i guess it just shows how much i've changed in a few years. Maybe come to read this in a few year time i will think what the hell was that 17 year old girl going on about typing shit on her apple mac from her room. But i don't care, i shall do it anyway!

My aim of my blog is a few things, one to capture moments of my life, so i can remember them. Two, to get a chance to share some of my passions in fashion and music and three, a easer way into modelling a few looks than paying for a expensive photo shoot.

I thought a good way to get to know who i am and what i'm about would be to take a photo of stuff that makes up me.

My love of music, shown by my amazing electric guitar (sold to be by a student for £30.. worth over £200) and my ipod. Love of reading, by the current book i am reading Wuthering Heights and the most resent copy of vogue. Pointe shoe's obviously dance, and my drivers licence, because thats how i prove my identity (and learning to drive takes all my money!)

Also a few photo's of me and what i'm wearing today...

Shorts - Zara
Belt - Primark
Bracelets - Collected over the years from many different countries
Top - H&M
Under Top - H&M

Until next time..
